Mobile Based Student Presence System Using Haar Cascade and Eigenface Facial Recognition Methods

Using biometric technology for recording attendance in the school environment is still not widely done by researchers. In this study, a solution was proposed to problems that occurred where parents/guardians could monitor presence of their children school. The offered student system based on facial recognition algorithms (face recognition). built can record students when entering classroom and returning home or out class. Proposed methods identifying are Haar Cascade Eigenface algorithms. also provide notice absence real time via email has been registered. method accurate fast results test results. developed mobile recognize faces up distance 200-300 cm with low moderate light intensity.
